The hospital houses our highly specialised haemato-oncology service for patients aged 13-18 years old who are diagnosed with cancer. The team also cares for patients undergoing cellular therapies (alloHSCT and gene therapy) for primary immunodeficiencies, and red cell disorders including sickle cell anaemia and thalassaemia. University College Hospital provides all aspects of state-of-the-art cancer care and are a highly specialist centre for specific treatments, including haemopoietic stem cell transplantation, CAR-T cell therapy and, shortly, proton beam radiotherapy. The specialist ward has private rooms complete with all the equipment a teenager needs to make their stay in hospital as comfortable as possible, and a parent or carer is able to stay in the private rooms overnight with their child, when required. The Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing of University College Hospital is home to our private maternity ward, The Fitzrovia Suite.
