Mount Alvernia Hospital offers treatments and services for those who live in Guildford, Surrey and further afield. All patients are admitted to Mount Alvernia under the care of a Consultant Surgeon or Physician of their choice, for a wide range of medical and surgical procedures, including orthopaedics, general surgery, dermatology, urology, women's health, ENT (ear, nose and throat) and pain management. The hospital is able to draw on the expertise of these experienced consultants who chose to bring their practice to the hospital. The hospital has 11 consulting rooms and 5 modern, well-equipped operating theatres. We also have three inpatient wards, with almost 40 bedrooms for overnight stays. Additionally, we offer private cancer care through our dedicated oncology centre, St Martha's. Within it, there are nine patient rooms and six pods for chemotherapy. The Centre provides outpatient and day-case services to patients. The service is provided by oncology specialist nurses and consultants and covers diagnostics, intravenous and oral chemotherapy, intravenous chemotherapy administration and monoclonal antibody therapy. Chemotherapy is given for a number of tumours including breast, urological, prostate, bowel, ovarian, bladder, haematological cancers, upper and lower GI, brain, pancreas, head and neck and melanoma. There is a specialist oncology physiotherapy service and patients also have access to acupuncture and alternative therapies.
