GMC reg: 1337802My specialist field is general and colorectal surgery of which I have thirty-two years’ experience at consultant level. I have published over 100 papers in peer reviewed journals on topics in general and emergency surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, and colorectal surgery, and colorectal cancer. Journals in which I have published include those with citation indices of greater than five – for example Annals of Surgery, Lancet and Journal of Clinical Oncology – in addition to British Journal of Cancer and British Journal of Surgery. I have been a contributor to over 100 papers presented at meetings of learned societies, such as American Society of Clinical Oncology, Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, British Society of Gastroenterology, and Surgical Research Society. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and a member of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland. I am a founding member of the Expert Witness Institute, a member of The Faculty of Expert Witnesses for Doctors, and a Tier 1 two star expert of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.
