GMC reg: 6076715Miss Shree Datta is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and is the Educational lead at King’s College Hospital. She qualified from Imperial College School of Medicine in 2003, obtaining the Arther Macey Scholarship and Helen Lawson research award for research in ovarian cancer. She completed her training at some of the best institutions in London. She provides a range of gynaecological services and treatments, including Minimal Access (Key-Hole) Surgery, Laparoscopy, Hysteroscopy, pelvic ultrasound, early pregnancy (including miscarriage), abnormal Smear Management and Colposcopy, having practiced for over 15 years. She has a specific interest in menstrual disturbances (eg. fibroids, endometriosis, PCOS) and vulval skin changes, publishing national guidance on endometriosis (Cochrane Review, 2018) In pregnancy care, Shree manages high risk antenatal care, complex delivery and runs a dedicated postnatal service. She tailors appointments to mum and baby's needs and firmly believes mums should choose exactly how their baby is delivered, taking an individualised approach to care. Her philosophy is to provide her patients with the best care throughout their journey, with a calm and logical patient-centred approach. She understands the busy schedules women have and is able to arrange appointments and procedures accordingly. She is known for her personal approach and interest in her patients. Shree Datta currently holds a number of National positions, which include being a Council member of the Royal Society of Medicine Obstetrics and Gynaecology section and Council member and trustee to the General Medical Council, where she underlines the importance of patient safety. She was elected unopposed to chair the UK British Medical Association’s Junior Doctors Committee and subsequently the North European Junior Doctors Committee. She was subsequently awarded Fellowship of the British Medical Association, and was highlighted as one of the top 50 UK BME Pioneers by Hospital Services Journal. Her passion for excellence in care lead her to be awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award by St George’s Medical School. Dr Datta is currently on the Editorial Board of the journal Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine and has set up teaching courses internationally. She has published extensively and her textbooks are used by medical students and junior doctors alike, with five star reviews, and she has been consulted by magazines such as Pregnancy and Birth for her clinical expertise.
