Dr Rob Hatrick

I was appointed as a full time consultant at the Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust in March 2008 and gained practising rights at BMI Goring Hall hospital shortly afterwards. I also have practising rights at the Spire Montefiore hospital in Hove. I trained at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals medical school in London before completing a series of prestigious SHO jobs in London (A&E at St Thomas hospital, Renal medicine at Guy’s hospital, ITU on the Mead unit at St Thomas’s hospital and Cardiology at the Royal Brompton hospital) . My cardiology specialist registrar training was on the Wessex Rotation with 3 years spent on the Wessex Cardiac Unit in Southampton. I completed Interventional cardiology fellowships at Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust in the UK and the Green Lane Cardiovascular Unit, Auckland, New Zealand. I have published peer reviewed papers in interventional cardiology and remain involved in interventional cardiology trials. I am currently the clinical lead for Cardiology at Worthing Hospital. I am married to a local teacher and have 2 children. Outside of medicine, my interests include outdoor pursuits including sailing, mountain biking, tennis, hockey, skiing and swimming.

I specialise in all aspects of Adult Cardiology with a particular clinical interest in coronary artery disease, angina, myocardial infarction (heart attack) and interventional cardiology (angioplasty, stenting, rotational atherectomy, invasive physiological assessment of the coronary circulation, Intravascular Ultrasound etc)
