I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and of the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine. I am also a member of the British Society for Rheumatology, the Royal Osteoporosis Society and the British Association of Sport & Exercise Medicine. I have a strong belief in a holistic approach to the management of disease and, if at all possible, avoiding medication and operations. This includes the use of exercise prescription, stress management and nutritional advice where appropriate. To achieve this I work closely with Physiotherapists, Pain Psychologists, Podiatrists and Nutritionists.  I follow a patient-centred approach. To achieve this, I carry out a detailed assessment of the patient which includes taking a thorough history of their medical problem followed by an appropriate physical examination and necessary investigations including blood tests and imaging. Once I have this information, treatment options are discussed and a shared decision is made regarding the most suitable, individualised treatment.  New patient consultations are usually 45 minutes and followup appointments 30 minutes.

I am dually accredited in Rheumatology and Sport and Exercise Medicine. My areas of expertise include Sports and Musculoskeletal injuries, Osteoporosis and bone stress injuries, Osteo- and  Inflammatory Arthritis, Back pain, Chronic pain and the Joint Hypermobility Syndromes. I also run exercise prescription clinics. This applies to the management of musculoskeletal diseases and can often lead to the reversal of the need for orthopaedic surgery. It also applies to the management of many chronic diseases such as Diabetes, Heart and Vascular disease, Obesity and Cancer.
