GMC reg: 4419992Iain qualified (MB ChB) from Manchester Medical School in 1997 and trained in ENT surgery in the North West and London. During his medical training he completed an intercalated degree in Anatomy (BSc (Hons)) with an emphasis on Embryology. He completed Fellowships in children’s ENT at the Evelina Children’s Hospital (St. Thomas’ Hospital, London) and the Sophia Children’s Hospital (Erasmus Medical Centre, Rotterdam, Holland). In 2006 he was awarded an MD from the University of Manchester and received the George Seed prize from the North of England Otorhinolaryngological Society for his MD research. Iain is a member of the Standing Scientific Committee of the European Society of Paediatric Otorhinolaryngology (ESPO), and is a recent member of the council of the British Association of Paediatric Otolaryngology (BAPO). His specialist clinical interests include childhood ear disease, childhood hearing loss and rehabilitation (Bone Anchored Hearing Aids (BAHA) and Cochlear Implants), the management of childhood airway disease (including snoring and OSA), and congenital neck masses. In his NHS and private practice he provides a comprehensive service managing all aspects of Ear, Nose and Throat disorders in children. In He has worked as a Consultant Paediatric Otolaryngologist at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital since 2009. Iain has an interest in clinical and basic science research and was appointed as Honorary Professor of Paediatric Otolaryngology, MAHSC, University of Manchester in 2014.
