GMC reg: 7143755Professor Martin Kaiser is the Chair of Haematology at The Institute of Cancer Research and an Honorary Consultant Haematologist at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, specialised in the management of multiple myeloma and related precursor conditions, smouldering myeloma and MGUS. Professor Kaiser’s key interest is the genetic and immune environment characterisation of multiple myeloma, a cancer of bone marrow plasma cells, with the aim of designing gentler, tailored therapies for patients. A particular focus of his work is high-risk myeloma. His team conducted the OPTIMUM trial, one of the first trials globally to offer innovative diagnostics and tailored therapy for patients with high-risk myeloma, which translated basic research from his team’s work into clinical application.
