GMC reg: 3274394Professor Chris Hammond is the Frost Professor of Ophthalmology at King's College London and a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at St Thomas' Hospital in London. His private practice is based at The London Clinic (119 Harley Street) but he also sees children at the Kersley Clinic (42 Harley Street) and at St Thomas' Hospital. He is a fellowship-trained paediatric ophthalmologist and specialises in the management of strabismus (squint) in adults and children. He is also a key opinion leader in the field of myopia, its causes and treatment to slow progression in children. Chris trained at Cambridge and Oxford Universities, and leads an internationally-recognised research group at KCL into the genetic epidemiology of common eye diseases including myopia, glaucoma, cataract, age-related macular degeneration and dry eye. He is a twin himself, and much of his research has been based in the Department of Twin Research & Genetic Epidemiology.
