Mr Professor Andrew Goldberg

Andy Goldberg is a fellowship trained Consultant Orthopaedic Paediatric and Adult Foot & Ankle Surgeon in London. Having qualified from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School (Imperial College) in 1994, his specialist training was on the North East Thames rotation in trauma and orthopaedics with a specialist fellowship in complex foot and ankle disorders at the Oxford Nuffield Orthopaedic Hospital. Prior to this, he also spent a year on a travelling fellowship to 15 centres of excellence across the US and Europe. Following a period of time as a consultant in Northampton, in 2010 he took up a role as Associate Professor at UCL and Honorary Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. In 2018 he moved his clinical practice to the independent sector but remains an Honorary Associate Professor at UCL and a visiting Professor in Orthopaedics at Imperial College London. He is Chief Investigator or Co-Investigator on many research studies funded by the NHR NIHR HTA and other charities. He is widely published and has authored several text books including Surgical Talk, and the Atlas of Ankle Replacements. He sits on the National Joint Registry Editorial Board and Medical Advisory Board and is a co-opted member on the Outcomes Committee for the British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (BOFAS) as well as being an International Editor for Foot & Ankle International at the American Academy of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. 

Mr Andrew Goldberg specialises solely in foot and ankle conditions for adults and children. He works in a multi-disciplinary setting including podiatrists, physiotherapists, pilates instructors and orthotists. His practice is entirely focused on listening to patients' needs and he believes strongly in outcomes-based treatments. He is a leading expert on ankle sprains, ankle arthritis, ankle fusion and ankle replacement, and has a programme of research into sports injuries and regenerative treatments of cartilage and tendons.
