Mrs Priya Prakash is a highly qualified Consultant Ophthalmologist. With about 30 years of wide experience and training in ophthalmology, especially Cataract surgery and medical retina. Mrs Prakash offers treatment and expertise on a wide variety of ocular conditions including: small incision cataract surgery, phacoemulsification with monofocal and multifocal intraocular lenses, age related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disorders, retinal vascular occlusions, intravitreal therapies, therapeutic lasers, eyelid surgeries, glaucoma, dry eyes, and general ophthalmology. She has a broad range of expertise across all areas of ophthalmology. Her Ophthalmology training started in 1994 . Master of Surgery(Ophthalmology) 1994-97 FRCS in Ophthlamology ( Glasgow) 2000 East Kent Hospital NHS Trust,Ashford,1999-2001 Southend University Hospital NHS Trust 2001-2008 Southampton University Hospital NHS Trust 2008-2010 Princess Alexandra Hospital between November 2010-July 2023-She worked as a Consultant Ophthalmologist , during which period, she brought in several developments and changes in the eye service. She was a clinical lead Ophthalmologist for nearly 8 years and led the Medical Retina including Diabetic retinopathy services. She was also a Principal Investigator in many Research clinical Trials.
