Ms Maria Del Carmen Miranda Garces

Ms Maria Del Carmen Miranda Garces is a consultant plastic surgeon in London specialising in breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast lift, breast fat transfers, tuberous breasts, and implant-based and microsurgical breast reconstruction. She currently attends to patients at 9 Harley Street, 25 Harley Street and Weymouth Hospital. She has previously worked as a consultant plastic surgeon specialising in breast surgery, skin cancer and lymphoedema surgery at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, as well as Hospital de Sant Pau and Hospital del Mar, both in Barcelona, Spain, where her work in breast reconstruction has served to finesse her aesthetic surgery procedures. Ms Miranda is adept at performing complex procedures and has extensive experience in breast asymmetry, breast implants, revision breast surgery, removal of implants, capsulectomy and implant exchange. She also has experience in male breast reduction (gynaecomastia), body contouring, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), liposculpture, liposuction, skin surgery, scar management and aesthetic medicine (non-surgical cosmetic procedures). She performs ultrasound-guided non-surgical rejuvenation, which improves safety in the use of fillers and botulinum toxin (Botox). After completing her Plastic Surgery training in Ramón y Cajal Hospital in Madrid, she gained a PhD in Lymphoedema Surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a Master’s Degree in Aesthetic & Anti-Aging Medicine from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. In addition to her qualifications, Ms Miranda completed her training at world-renowned international plastic surgery units like Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. She has also completed senior clinical microsurgery fellowships at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and a congenital hand and vascular malformations fellowship at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. Ms Miranda has been on the General Medical Council's specialist register since 2016. She is also a member of the Spanish Association of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery and a fellow of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. She is passionate about research, especially on Lymphoedema Surgery and has published her findings in peer-reviewed journals. She has also presented her results internationally.
