Cosmetic breast surgery: A consultant surgeon, Mr. Ahmad has a specialist interest in breast augmentation with minimal scarring. He’s performed more than 1,000 breast augmentations/enlargements and has developed techniques to address some of the most unwanted issues related to breast enlargement with implant surgery. Specialist procedures include breast reductions with minimal scarring, breast uplift (mastopexy), breast uplift with implant, asymmetry correction, correction of tuberous breast, nipple reconstruction, fat transfers, and operations for gynaecomastia (male breast enlargement). ADM (acellular dermal matrix): Mr. Ahmad is one of very few specialist cosmetic surgeons to have expertise of using ADM in cosmetic breast surgery. This is very useful technique to prevent capsular contracture, breast ptosis (drop) after breast lift and breast enlargement with moderate to large size implants.
Post-weight loss tissue reduction surgery: With a special interest in post-weight loss surgery, Mr. Ahmad provides a wide variety of cosmetic procedures to address the issues that are faced following extreme weight loss, including thigh lifts, brachioplasty (arm lift), abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and liposuction.
Oncoplastic surgery: During his career, Mr. Ahmad has developed one of the largest series of therapeutic mammoplasty procedures in the region and contributed to numerous developments in the world of oncoplastic surgery. He offers a full spectrum of procedures, including Latissimus Dorsi and pedicle TRAM flap and has extensive experience in ADM based breast reconstruction. He accepts referrals from other centres for a second opinion.
Qualifications: MB (Bachelor of Medicine), MCh (Master of Surgery), FRCS (Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons), FRCSI (Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland), FRCS Gen Eng (breast). He was awarded a Masters Degree in Surgery from Cardiff University in 2003 and passed an intercollegiate exam in June 2006. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and a member of the Association of Breast Surgeons at the British Association of Surgical Oncology (ABS @ BASO). Mr. Ahmad is registered on the General Medical Councils (GMCs) specialist register – GMC number 4286992.
Experience: Mr. Ahmad became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1993. He went on to spend three years in St. James’s University hospital in Leeds, working in an extremely busy breast unit gaining experience in breast cancer surgery and cosmetic procedures, including breast augmentations and breast reductions. He gained significant experience in autologous reconstruction techniques, at the University of Wales Hospital, Cardiff.
