He has been a consultant since 2015 and specialises in primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery and knee arthroscopy (keyhole surgery). After completing his initial training in India, Mr. Bhatnagar carried out specialist orthopaedic training in the Northeast and obtained his FRCS (Tr.&Orth) from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He was selected for the prestigious Cavendish Fellowship in primary and revision arthroplasty in Sheffield. Mr. Bhatnagar worked as a consultant in Bolton and Sunderland before joining Newcastle Hospitals. Mr. Bhatnagar has trauma interests in peri-prosthetic fractures and is the trust lead for fracture neck of femur. He is a trainer and educational supervisor for orthopaedic registrars and mentor for surgical care practitioners. He has a keen interest in research and is principal investigator for national multi-centre trials. Mr. Bhatnagar has completed the BOA clinical leadership programee and is involved in service improvement projects.
