Mr Sam Vollans

I graduated from the University of Leeds and completed my specialist training in Yorkshire. Following this, I undertook further training in both elective and trauma shoulder & elbow surgery in Sheffield. I completed a European Travelling Fellowship (awarded by the British Elbow & Shoulder Society) with Denise Eygendaal (Netherlands) & Roger van Riet (Belgium). I have developed a particular interest in elbow surgery including primary and complex revision elbow replacement, elbow arthroscopy, paediatric/adolescent elbow deformity, osteochondritis and instability. I am also part of the Leeds Hand Transplant Team. I pride myself on excellent communication with patients and aim to educate patients about their condition so they can make the very best decisions about their own health and care. I am passionate about innovation that improves patient experience and setup and continue to manage a large virtual fracture clinic in Leeds.

SHOULDER All aspects of open and arthroscopic shoulder surgery, both elective and ambulatory trauma. ELBOW All aspects of elbow surgery including children, deformity, arthroscopic, open, trauma and elective. Special interest and skills in elbow primary and revision arthroplasty, infection and bone loss. Also custom/patient specific deformity correction in adults and children.
