He trained in both the UK (Bristol) and North America (Vancouver) perfecting joint replacement surgery - specialising in both hip and knee joint replacements and revision of hip and knee replacements when they go wrong. Unicompartmental knee replacements are also performed, He is a high volume joint replacement surgeon performing over 350 a year. Mr Baker works as a team with his anaesthetist Dr Steve Tolchard in both the NHS and private sector. In more than a decade of practising together they have performed in excess of 3,500 joint replacements. Together they provided expert care pre, intra and post-operatively.
