GMC reg: 6099360Mr Wall's practice includes managing young patients with sporting and athletic injuries around the hip joint. In situations where patients have established arthritis and the joint surfaces are worn out he performs hip resurfacing (Birmingham Hip Resurfacing) or total hip replacement surgery. Mr Wall's research interests are the clinical effectiveness and safety of musculoskeletal interventions. He was a co-investigator for the NIHR-HTA funded UK FASHIoN Study a multi-centre trial examining the effectiveness of hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement and has completed a NIHR funded postdoctoral fellowship examining the safety of using a tourniquet in knee replacement surgery. He is currently Co-Chief Investigator for the NIHR-HTA funded RACER-Hip Study; a multi-centre trial examining clinical effectiveness of robotic assisted total hip replacement surgery. ? Mr Wall was born and went to school in North Yorkshire. He attended medical school at the University of Birmingham where he graduated with Honours. He completed his Orthopaedic training in the West Midlands with placements including: University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, Warwick and the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham. During his training he took a period out of programme to complete a PhD at Warwick University Medical School with a thesis on treatments for femoroacetabular impingement of the hip. He gained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh (Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery) in February 2017 and obtained his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in 2018. He completed post CCT specialist fellowship training at recognised centres of excellence and tertiary referral for hip disorders with: The Exeter Hip Unit at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and The Young Adult Hip Unit at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London. ?
