Mr Pablo Martinez Devesa

Mr Martinez-Devesa qualified in Madrid in 1993, then Trained at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital in London, Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge and then in Oxford, where he was appointed as a Consultant Otolaryngologist, Head and Neck Surgeon in 2007. Since 2010 he sub-specialised in Advanced Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery and is a core member of the Multidisciplinary team in this field. He is also a member of the Craniofacial Trauma Team, Rhino-Orbital and Paediatric Craniofacial teams working closely with several specialties. He is a member of the British Rhinology Society and the British Society of Otology and held the posts of Clinical Lead and Clinical Tutor in the ENT Department in Oxford. He has over a hundred presentations and publications in peer review journals covering various aspects of Otolaryngology and he has obtained several awards from publications and presentations in the fields of Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, Skull Base tumours and Otological disease. He has published and also lectured in the UK and Europe about the Quality of Life (physical, emotional and social aspects) in patients treated for malignant tumours of the Skull Base and Head and Neck. Mr Martinez-Devesa is a co-author of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery book and contributor to Training in Surgery, both published by Oxford University Press and use as reference for Specialty Trainees in ENT and allied specialties. He also enjoys teaching and training as a faculty member in Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery courses for Specialty trainees and Consultants.

Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, Ballon Dilatation of Sinuses, Complex Frontal Sinus Surgery (Modified Lothrop / Draf procedures), Sphenoid Surgery. Septoplasty, Endoscopic and Open approaches to sinuses (Midfacial devolving, Medial Maxillectomy, Frontal Sinus Osteoplastic flap). Endoscopic Orbital Surgery: Orbital decompression and Lacrimal surgery. Anterior Skull Base: Endoscopic and Open approaches for Excision of Nasal, Orbital and Skull Base tumours, Repair of intranasal CSF leak. Surgical treatment of complications after traumatic craniofacial injury, tumours, infection or iatrogenic. Otology: Diagnosis and Medical treatment of Middle Ear and Mastoid disease, hearing loss and balance disorders (Meniere's disease, BPPV). Open and Endoscopic Surgery for middle ear disease: Tympanoplasty, Mastoid Surgery, Surgery for Meniere's disease and Cholesteatoma. Surgery for Paediatric hearing loss (glue ear). Paediatric ENT: Diagnosis, Medical and Surgical Treatment for Rhinology, Skull Base and Otology conditions in the paediatric patient. Treatment of tonsillitis and paediatric sleep apnoea.
