I am a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon specialising in lower limb arthroplasty and complex trauma. With extensive experience and a deep commitment to patient care, I focus on providing effective solutions to conditions affecting the lower limbs, including arthritis, fractures, and sports injuries. My training includes comprehensive specialist education in orthopaedic surgery, enhanced by prestigious fellowships. I completed a Major Trauma Fellowship at Liverpool University Hospitals, where I honed my skills in managing severe trauma cases, particularly complex fractures and multi-trauma scenarios. Following this, I was a British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) National Clinical Fellow at Wrightington Hospital, a renowned center for orthopaedic excellence. This fellowship provided me with advanced experience in lower limb surgery. My clinical expertise encompasses both elective and emergency orthopaedic care, including joint replacements, fracture management, and minimally invasive knee surgeries. I have successfully performed over 500 joint replacement procedures (including total and partial hip and knee replacements), and I also specialize in joint preservation techniques for patients seeking alternatives to major surgery. In addition, I lead complex trauma cases, managing intricate fractures, especially those involving previous joint replacements or near joints. I also lead children's orthopaedic care in my trust. Beyond my clinical practice, I serve as a mentor and educator for medical students and junior doctors, helping shape the next generation of healthcare professionals. I also hold leadership roles in clinical governance, ensuring high standards in patient care, and I lead the metastatic bone service in collaboration with major oncology centers. I believe in a holistic approach to healthcare, where communication and collaboration with patients, families, and medical colleagues are essential to achieving the best outcomes. I specialize in hip and knee replacement surgeries, including total and partial joint replacements, with extensive experience treating conditions such as osteoarthritis, inflammatory arthritis, and avascular necrosis. Having performed over 500 joint arthroplasties, I am committed to enhancing patient mobility and quality of life through tailored surgical interventions. A key area of my practice involves joint preservation techniques for early-stage arthritis, offering alternatives to major surgery. I also treat sports injuries through arthroscopic knee surgery, helping patients recover from ligament and cartilage damage. In trauma care, I focus on managing complex fractures, including peri-prosthetic and peri-articular injuries, applying innovative approaches for optimal recovery. I lead my Trust’s paediatric orthopaedic service, providing specialized care for children with orthopaedic conditions. In collaboration with Manchester Children’s Hospital, I ensure young patients receive expert treatment for a range of issues, tailored to their specific developmental needs. I also provide metastatic bone service, overseeing the orthopaedic care of patients with skeletal metastases, working closely with major oncology centres to offer comprehensive treatment. In addition to my clinical work, I serve as an Educational Supervisor for medical students from the University of Buckingham. I am passionate about mentoring and guiding the next generation of doctors, helping them develop the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful medical career. I also play an active role in clinical governance, supervising junior doctors and contributing to departmental quality improvement and audit processes.
