GMC reg: 6037957I joined Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust as a consultant urological surgeon in 2016. I specialise in treating kidney stone and laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery for kidney diseases. I specialise in ureteroscopy, percutaneous nephrolithotmy (PCNL), ultrasound shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL), laparoscopic pyeloplast and laparoscopic nephrectomy. I gained a valuable experience in the management of complex kidney stone diseases and minimally invasive access treatment for kidney cancer and benign kidney diseases. I perform a high volume of flexible ureteroscopy to treat kidney stones. I also have training and experience in laparoscopic surgery for non functioning kidneys and pelviureteric junction obstruction (PUJO). I am passionate about delivering the highest quality of clinical care and increasing the public awareness and knowledge of stone disease. I graduated at Baghdad University in 1999 and completed my PhD degree in urology at the University of Surrey in 2009. My research concentrated on the molecular and immunological treatment for prostate cancer. I undertook my postgraduate specialist urological training in the Southwest of England. I have also completed a further 20 months of stone and laparoscopic fellowship in the Bristol Urological institute in 2015.
