GMC reg: 7083336Mr Izett-Kay qualified from the University of Exeter before re-locating to London where he spent a decade training in obstetrics, gynaecology, and then specialised training in urogynaecology. He was inspired to enter the field whilst working at King’s College Hospital London for Professor Linda Cardozo OBE. He was awarded an MD (Res) doctoral degree from University College London for research into womb-sparing key-hole prolapse surgery and the role of synthetic mesh, supervised by Mr Arvind Vashisht and Professor Usha Menon at UCLH. He completed his sub-specialty training at the Department of Urogynaecology in Oxford where he now works as a Consultant offering general gynaecology as well as specialised pelvic floor care. Mr Izett-Kay is actively engaged in research, publishing peer-reviewed papers regularly, lecturing internationally, authoring book chapters, and is currently part of the NIHR funded PURSUE study group at University of Oxford. He is Chair of the IUGA FTECP committee, runs a journal club, teaches laparoscopic surgery to peers and trainees as a subspecialty trainer, and provides mentorship and teaching to junior colleagues leading to several awards. He is a regular peer-reviewer for international academic journals and also has expertise in medicolegal practice. He is a member of the British Society of Urogynaecology (BSUG), British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE), Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (RCOG), International Urogynecological Association (IUGA), and The Medico-Legal Society. His NHS practice is based at the John Radcliffe Hospital Oxford and he practices privately at The Nuffield Manor Hospital Oxford.
