GMC reg: 4317629Mr Martin Watson MBChB, FRCOphth, PhD, DIC, Cert LRS, is a full time Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital. He has extensive experience in the medical and surgical management of complex corneal and external eye disease, corneal transplantation, cataract and refractive surgery. He has held many senior management positions at Moorfields and is currently the Director of the Corneal Service . He has a keen interest in patient safety and worked extensively in the prevention of 'Never Events' at Moorfields particularly in relation to cataract surgery. Research interests include the mechanisms and prevention of corneal graft rejection having previously be awarded the prestigious Clinical Research Fellowship from the ‘The Wellcome Trust’, attaining a PhD in Corneal graft rejection.
