GMC reg: 3579745I graduated in Medicine in 1992 by the University of the Basque Country. My postgraduate surgical training was received in the UK including a high orthopaedic specialist training in the South West region programme of London. I obtained the FRCS Trauma & Orthopaedic qualification in 2005. I then trained further in hip and knee replacement surgery in the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. After a short spell as a Consultant in Kingston Hospital, I was appointed to Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital in Bangor in 2008. I regularly attend national and international educational meetings and conferences to keep up to date with all new ideas and developments in the field of hip and knee replacements. I perform minimally invasive hip surgery when feasible, including the Mini-Posterior Approach and the AnteriorPATH Approach. I use medial pivot design knee replacements that provide more stability and confidence on walking. All my hip and knee replacement practice is regulated and audited by the National Joint Registry and the data and figures are in the public domain.
