Mr Kevin Boyd

I have been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust in England since 2003, embedded within the Musculoskeletal, Sport and Exercise Medicine Department since 2006. I trained in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Nottingham and Brisbane, Australia, where I undertook a senior clinical fellowship in Sports Orthopaedics and Knee Surgery. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and of the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine of the United Kingdom. I have active roles in research, teaching and examining. I have held a number of senior roles in medical management and elite sport. I am Olympian swimmer.

I specialise in elective orthopaedics and sports injuries. My main areas of focus are knee, shoulder and foot & ankle problems including overuse syndromes, tendinopathies and chronic exertional compartment syndrome, for which I have national referral base. My personal and longstanding professional involvement in Sport & Exercise Medicine enables me to manage all active individuals sensitively.
