GMC reg: 4015556I was appointed as a Consultant Colorectal & Laparoscopic Surgeon at King’s College NHS Foundation Trust Hospital, London in 2008. The colorectal department at King’s College Hospital specializes in the management and treatment of diseases of the colon, rectum and anus. The department is a tertiary referral unit which is recognized as a specialist coloproctology training unit by the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain & Ireland. I am currently the chief of colorectal surgical department at King's College Hospital. The department is based at two sites, Denmark Hill and Princess Royal University Hospital I graduated from Queen’s Medical School, the University of Nottingham, UK in 1993 where he was awarded a Bachelor of Medical Science (B.Med Sci.) in 1991 and a Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery (BM BS) degree in 1993. I completed a substantial portion of his Basic Surgical Training at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford and General Surgical- Higher Surgical Training in the North-West of England (Manchester). In 1997, I was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS). Following my surgical training in the United Kingdom, I obtained advanced sub-specialized training in colorectal, laparoscopic and pelvic floor surgery at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California, USA and the Mayo Clinic, Phoenix, Arizona, USA. In 2007, I successfully completed the examination conducted by the Intercollegiate Board of General Surgery and was awarded the Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS Gen Surg) certificate. He obtained his Certification of Completion of Training in General Surgery (CCT) in 2008. In order to explore and understand the increasing complexity of the law relating to the practice of healthcare, I obtained a Masters Degree - Legal Aspects of Medical Practice (LLM) from Cardiff Law School, the University of Cardiff in 2003.

OUR CLINICAL SERVICE Mr Nunoo-Mensah provides all aspects of diagnostic and surgical procedures for colorectal and pelvic floor conditions. These include:Specialist Procedures Advanced laparoscopic surgical procedures including (SILS – single incision laparoscopic surgery) for diseases of the colon & rectum Anterior resection and total mesorectal excision (TME) for rectal cancers Inflammatory bowel disease surgery including laparoscopic ileoanal pouch for ulcerative colitis Reoperative complex open and laparoscopic colorectal surgery Trans endoscopic microsurgery for small rectal tumours Anal sphincter and pelvic floor surgery including rectal prolapse surgery Haemorrhoidal surgery including stapled haemorrhoidectomy (PPH) and Haemorrhoid artery ligation surgery (HALS) procedures Anal fistula surgery Pelvic floor assessment and treatments - Anorectal physiology and endorectal ultrasound tests for investigating constipation and faecal incontinence Colonoscopy & gastroscopy Bowel cancer screening General Procedures Abdominal wall and groin hernia surgery Minor surgical procedures for skin lesions under local anaesthetic
