Mr Jamil Ahmed is a Consultant Laparoscopic General and Colorectal Surgeon, currently working at Northampton General Hospital NHS trust, UK. He graduated from Donetsk Sate Medical University, Donetsk, Ukraine. He has received his research degree from Hull University and higher surgical training from Wessex Deanery, UK. He has strong interest in minimally invasive colorectal surgery. He also has completed a Post CCT fellowship from European Academy of Robotic Colorectal Surgery ERACS Lisbon, Portugal. He is an experienced surgeon in minimally invasive colorectal and general surgery. He performs laparoscopic colonic and rectal surgery both for malignant and benign conditions including inflammatory bowel disease and coloproctological conditions. Mr Ahmed has a strong interest in surgical research and teaching particularly minimally invasive treatment for colorectal conditions aimed at improving the outcomes for patients. He has executed several prospective studies and published over 40 peer-reviewed articles in various medical journals and a book chapter. He also presented over 60 presentations in different national and international scientific meetings. Mr Ahmed is surgical tutor and lead for teaching and training for surgical trainees at Northampton General Hospital. He has been part of the faculty in various national and international master classes for laparoscopic surgery.
