Dr Mr Andrew Tatham

Andrew is a consultant ophthalmologist at Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion where he specialises in cataract surgery and the medical, laser and surgical treatment of glaucoma.  Andrew is president of the UK and Eire Glaucoma Society and co-chair of the European Glaucoma Scientific Committee. He is Honorary Reader at University of Edinburgh, NHS Research Scotland National Clinical Lead for Ophthalmology and Visiting Professor at Jules Gonin Eye Hospital, Lausanne, Switzerland.  He has a keen interest in education and is a module lead for the University of Edinburgh Primary Care Ophthalmology MSc program. He has been invited to teach eye care professionals in Europe, the US, Australia and Asia.  He was the first ophthalmologist in Scotland to perform the minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) procedures, iStent, Hydrus, OMNI, iTrack and PreserFlo. Andrew is a past recipient of the ARVO Innovative Research Award, Tenovus Scotland Lady Illingworth Award and Pfizer Ophthalmic Fellowship. In his spare time he is a classifier for the British Paralympic Association.
