Mr Andrew Pearson

I am one of the few truly specialist hip surgeons in the UK. My private practice is solely devoted to treating hip conditions I see patients at The Priory Hospital in Birmingham and The Droitwich Spa Hospital in Worcestershire. I specialise purely in orthopaedic hip surgery and have had an established specialist practice for over 20 years . This focus has led to highly successful outcomes with very low complication rates. I perform principally primary hip replacement surgery and also undertake hip revision surgery helping patients whose previous hip surgery has failed and I frequently accept referrals from other orthopaedic surgeons from around the country. My practice also encompasses providing care for patients with soft tissue problems around the hip such as bursitis.  I graduated with distinction from the Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School in 1995 and won the surgery prize. My higher surgical training in Orthopaedics brought me to the West Midlands. I have also undertaken advanced training in complex and revision hip surgery at the world renowned Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford before taking up my consultant post at one of the leading specialist Orthopaedic hospitals in the country, The Royal Orthopaedic in Birmingham, in 2004. I left the NHS in 2023 and now my whole clinical practice is within the private sector.

My clinical practice is dedicated entirely to the surgical treatment of arthritis of the hip joint. I undertake primary and revision (treatment of failed hip replacements) surgery. In addition I treat soft tissue conditions around the hip such as bursitis and Greater Trochanteric pain Syndrome (GTPS).
