Following my pre-clinical training, I was awarded a National Scholar and was graduated Excellent with Honors from Cairo University , 1995. My early surgical Training followed by 5 years residency Specialist Registrar surgical training was completed in advanced Cancer Surgery and Surgical-Oncology at the National Cancer Institute “UICC”, The international Directory of Cancer Institutes & Organizations which is the most reputable tertiary referral center for treating complex, advanced and recurrent cancer cases in collaboration with Gustave Roussy cancer institute, Paris, the 1st. Cancer Center in Europe.
My academic excellency during my higher surgical training residency was achieved following three-year in clinical academic research evaluating surgical outcome and life quality following treating Colorectal Cancers and my Mater's Degree was awarded in Excellence award, 1999. My research work was published at both National and International levels and was presented in world leading congress and conferences. Academic achievements were crowned following spending further three years researching in the field of Neuroblastoma, a rare abdominal malignancy of childhood and was awarded my PhD. in Surgical-oncology. Satisfying my academic interest and desire to explore, I also spent more research time at Bristol University and Southmead Hospital research unit looking in depth into impact of Diabetes Mellitus on cancer treatment and outcome evaluating FAS Impact of Hyperglycaemia in Cancer Progression and Treatment Response, The Role of EGF, IGF-I and Fibronectin abundance.Further clinical experience in laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery training for further 6 years at Addenbrooke’s and Norfolk & Norwich University Hospitals through the East of England National Higher Surgical Training programme was successfully completed. GMC approval for consultancy level was awarded .As the only surgeon with vast international clinical and academic experience, I enhanced my unique skills in the sub-special science of treating incontinence at Bristol Royal Infirmary and Middlesex University Hospital, London. The European Institute of Tele-Surgery, University of Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg, France and Hamburg, Germany were other international centers where I refined my advanced Laparoscopic (Key Hole) skills and practice.I was awarded the National traveling Fellowship of GBI spending further international fellowship in The Schubert-Martin Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center, Cincinnati Medical Hospital, Ohio, USA exploring the art of treating Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Pouch surgery in adolescence and young-adults. A unique experience in a very specialized center.
With a strongest will to provide the best treatment for my patients, I joined the colorectal Team at Christchurch Hospital, New Zealand as the prestigious International Fellow in recurrent rectal and advanced pelvic cancer working with internationally recognized Pioneers in field. www.ipswichcolorectal.org
