Mr Alessio Vinci

Alessio Vinci is a consultant oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgeon and, alongside his private practice, he is the Clinical Lead for the NHS Tayside Breast Unit. Alessio specialises in the whole spectrum of breast care, ranging from women requiring surgery for benign and malignant conditions, to women seeking cosmetic breast surgery. In his private practice, he undertakes cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgeries including breast reduction, breast lifts (mastopexy), and breast augmentation.

Alessio is a fully accredited surgeon with the UK General Medical Council and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh). Based permanently in Scotland, Alessio draws on clinical and surgical experience in the UK as well as internationally. Having completed his medical degree and general surgical training in Italy (Universities of Pisa and Pavia respectively) he subsequently trained with specialist breast unit teams at both the world-class Cambridge University Hospital and the Royal Marsden Hospital, London. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, having spent time researching at the Department of Surgery of the University of California (USA), and he attended, as a visiting fellow, the Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York (USA). Alessio’s NHS practice often involves complex and specialist breast reconstructive work, requiring compassionate breast care. However, whether undertaking private cosmetic or reconstructive surgery, one of his primary concerns is aesthetics and body image. He is committed to safeguarding patient safety while delivering natural-looking results which meet, or exceed, his patient’s expectations. Alessio understands the positive impact that well-performed cosmetic procedures can have on a person’s self-esteem. He appreciates that optimum results can only be achieved by a deep understanding of the concerns and expectations of his patients, tailoring the procedure to a person’s aspirations and concerns. Each procedure will be explained carefully and in-depth, as an adequate understanding of the potential risks and benefits is essential to deliver patient-centered results.
