GMC reg: 5194521Mr Akshay Mehra completed his medical degree from Agra Medical School, India in 1996. After moving to UK in 1999, he trained in general surgical specialities and passed his membership of Royal College of Surgeons in 2002. He joined the higher surgical training programme in Birmingham in 2005, attaining his fellowship of Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2009. He went on to do hip and knee replacement fellowships in Leicester, UK and Toronto, Canada before getting appointed as a full time consultant at The Alexandra Hospital, Redditch in 2013. Mr Akshay Mehra is a keen researcher and has published extensively in peer reviewed journals. He has also written a chapter on hip surgery. He has presented his work both nationally and internationally and enjoys teaching.
