I trained in ENT at Bart's, The Royal London, The Royal Liverpool Hospital and Alder Hey Hospital and undertook two otology fellowships in 1994 and 1995, the first a TWJ fellowship to the Causse Clinic, Bezier, France and the second to The KKR ENT Hospital in Chennai. The latter involved a concentrated period of tympanomastoid and stapedectomy surgery. I was Head and Neck Lecturer at The Royal Liverpool Hospital in 1994 and was clinical lead for Head and Neck surgery in Colchester from 1996 until 2004. I was in the first wave of surgeons in the UK to be trained in endoscopic sinus surgery and a faculty member on the Cambridge Endoscopic Sinus Surgery course for 15 years.
I am co-author and editor 'Key Topics in ENT' which is the main book for registrars studying to pass their exit ENT specialist examination. The third edition was published in February 2019 by Thieme.
