GMC reg: 2341309Miss Adams studied in Edinburgh, where she did her initial ophthalmic training before coming to London, initially at Moorfields. Miss Adams's first consultant post was at Oldchurch Hospital in Essex and she returned to Moorfields as a consultant on the strabismus and paediatric service. Miss Adams was the Moorfields representative on the Council of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists for 6 years completing her term in 2018. Miss Adams has been a member of Royal College of Ophthalmologists working parties on child abuse and guidelines for ROP. She is the chair of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists ROP treatment guideline development group. Miss Adams is a council member and vice president of the International Strabismus Association. She is a member of the volunteer faculty of the charity ORBIS, and has worked with them in India, China, Vietnam, Ethiopia and Jamaica. For CBM, she has undertaken work in Serbia. She is a trustee of the charity TED CT, which supports patients with the distressing condition of thyroid eye disease. She won the Charity Volunteer of the Year award for 2005 for her work with ORBIS. Miss Adams has published widely on the above topics and is regularly called upon as an expert witness.
