Dr Mathis Heydtmann

Dr Mathis Heydtmann studied and trained in Germany, Switzerland and the UK. He did an MD in molecular genetics at Düsseldorf / Germany and a PhD at Birmingham University. He is a consultant since 2009 and works now as a consultant hepatologist (seeing only liver related problems in his NHS and private practice). He is Honorary Associate Clinical Professor at Glasgow University and has a number of national and international roles which he enjoys, for example: Specialty Advisor of the Scottish Chief Medical Officer for liver Representing Scotland in the UK Liver Alliance working together with the British Liver Trust Specialist Adviser to the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman, National Independent Whistleblowing Officer and Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman Trainer for Advanced Appraisers for NHS Education Scotland Tutor for Management,, Leadership and Faculty Development for the Royal College of Physicians Examiner, host and chair for PACES exams for the Royal Colleges of Physicians
