Dr Martin Rooms

Dr Martin Rooms is a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at The Royal Marsden and also provides anaesthetic services at The Lister Hospital. Dr Rooms qualified from St George’s Hospital Medical School in 2005 and subsequently trained in the Central London School of Anaesthesia, working at centres such as UCL, Royal Free, Harefield and Great Ormond Street Hospitals, before being appointed as Consultant at The Royal Marsden in 2015. His work covers a wide range of anaesthetic activity both inside and outside of theatres. He has a regular commitment in Preassessment Clinic where he supervises cardiopulmonary exercise testing sessions and works to identify and optimise higher risk patients. Dr Rooms also undertakes Vascular Access procedures including portacath and hickman line placement at The Royal Marsden. He is an active member of both the educational faculty and the departmental research group and has published in areas covering thromboelastography, transfusion, perioperative medicine and day case procedures.
