Dr Elora Mukherjee

Dr Mukherjee is a Consultant Physician specialising in acute and general medicine and has been an NHS Consultant based in London since 2011. Based at busy district general hospital in West London, she has a wealth of experience within NHS medicine spanning over 20+ years. Her clinical interests include acute medicine, accident and emergency, renal medicine, cardiology, respiratory, elderly care and critical care. An area of expertise for her is Medical Examiner work and Dr Mukherjee has been the Lead Medical Examiner for Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust, where she worked closely with HM Coroner, the legal and governance departments. Dr Mukherjee has published widely within medicine having authored a medical textbook, numerous book chapters and published articles in high impact journals such as The Lancet and the BMJ. She is trained in clinical negligence and in workplace mediation. Finally, colourful stories can be recounted from her experience of working as a ship’s physician and media experiences; including commenting for Sky News, being involved in a BBC Horizon research documentary and having featured as a senior registrar in the BBC TV documentary ‘Junior doctors – your life in their hands’. Dr Mukherjee is conversant in English, Bengali and Hindi.
