GMC reg: 3355655Dr Sue Pavord, MB ChB, FRCP, FRCPath. Dr Sue Pavord is a Consultant Haematologist at Oxford University Hospitals and Associate Senior Lecturer in Medicine at St Edmund Hall. Her special areas of interest are obstetric haematology, anaemia and iron management, haemostasis, thrombosis and immunohaematology. She and colleagues have pioneered Obstetric Haematology as a specialism, bringing together obstetricians, haematologists and anaesthetists in close collaboration to improve the wellbeing and safety of women in pregnancy. She co-chairs the UK group and is joint editor of The Obstetric Haematology Manual (Pavord Hunt), the leading textbook in the field. Sue is author of several national and international guidelines relating to the management of haematological problems in pregnancy. Sue has a special interest in anaemia and runs a clinic in Oxford, assessing and treating iron deficiency in individuals of all ages including those with heart failure and cancer, or before surgery. Committed to education, Sue lectures and runs courses in the UK and abroad. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists and Royal College of Physicians.
