Dr Sibu Varghese

Dr Sibu Varghese is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Physician and looks after patients with general gastroenterology conditions. He completed his higher specialist training (CCT) and PhD from Cambridge. He is an accredited bowel screening colonoscopist and the Programme Director for the Cambridge Bowel Screening Programme. He was appointed as the Endoscopy Professional Clinical Advisor for the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme with Public Health England’s Screening QA Service in 2021. He is also the Clinical Lead for the endoscopy training centre at Cambridge University Hospital. His sub-specialty interests include therapeutic (advanced) endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and pancreato-biliary medicine (diagnosis and management of pancreatic conditions). His research interests include the early detection of gastrointestinal cancers and endoscopic imaging techniques. He has set up and runs a specialist medical pancreatic clinic at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. He is involved in endoscopic training (basic and advanced) for higher specialist trainees and fellows and is an educational and clinical supervisor.
