GMC reg: 4670252I am a Consultant in Diabetes & Endocrinology based at Frimley Park Hospital. I completed my specialist training in 2010 within the Severn Deanery. I have also done my research and completed a postgraduate MD from the University of Bath. I have worked as a consultant at James Cook University Hospital and moved to Frimley Park Hospital in 2017. My training in Diabetes & Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine has enabled me to be competent in the management of patients in both these specialities. As an endocrine specialist, I have experience in investigating, diagnosing and managing patients with endocrine problems including thyroid dysfunctions, calcium disorders, electrolyte abnormalities, pituitary disease, adrenal problems and hypogonadism. I am fully competent in managing individuals with diabetes and work to empower them to own and manage their circumstances. I have been involved in obesity clinics including weight management and assessment of patients to be referred for bariatric surgery. My sub-speciality is in Diabetes technology whereas I run the Insulin Pump and CGM clinic within the hospital. I have been an educator on an Insulin Pump Course and am a DAFNE educator, a Type 1 education programme. My other interest is in endocrine antenatal care. As part of this I run the diabetes/endocrine antenatal clinic working with obstetricians and specialists nurses to insure that our patients receive excellent clinical care and outcomes. I provide pre-conception advice and follow up ladies with Diabetes who plan to get pregnant. I enjoy the management of acutely unwell patients and the challenge of finding the correct diagnosis and manage a patient appropriately My research experience was in dietary interventions and metabolic syndrome, which I would like to make use of to develop obesity/nutrition clinics. Diabetes and endocrinology is such an extensive topic, and I would like to continue increasing my knowledge and experience. To enable me to keep up to date with new developments, I actively participate in many of the clinical trials run in the Clinical Trials Unit and am a principal and co-investigator for a number of international and multi-centre studies.
