Dr Mars Skae

A Malaysian by birth, Dr. Skae graduated from Sheffield University, obtained her membership to the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, completed her subspeciality training in paediatric endocrinology and postgraduate research degree, at the University of Manchester. She is currently a Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist and clinical lead at the Department of Paediatric Endocrinology at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and lead clinician for paediatric obesity and disorders of sexual differentiation (DSD). She is also part of a team that runs one of the few multi-disciplinary transition DSD and complex gynaecology clinics for women in the UK. She has previously held the post of guidelines officer of the British Society of Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (BSPED), has previously contributed to the development of National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines for obesity and quality standards and is currently a professor advisor for the NIHR funded obesity empowerment network (OEN) UK.
