I qualified from Medical University in Gdansk in 1991. In 1995, I then gained a PhD in inflammatory bowel disease in and researched inflammatory bowel disease at Hammersmith Hospital in London and then conducted post-doctoral research at Oxford University and John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford between 1996-1998.
Following a successful period in the research field I underwent extensive training in general medicine and joined a Specialist Registrar Training Programme in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine in Nottingham and West Midlands (2001-2006).
I have been appointed as a Gastroenterology Consultant at Macclesfield DGH since 2006. I also conduct advanced endoscopy sessions at Salford Royal Hospital.
My clinical practice involves seeing patients with a variety of gastroenterological and liver disorders, providing a comprehensive endoscopy service with diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy, colonoscopy, EUS, ERCP, EMR and capsule endoscopy.
I am an accredited colonoscopist for the National Bowel Screening Programme requiring the highest standard of quality and safety. In addition to this, I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Manchester University.
