Dr John Jones

Dr Jones was educated as a preclinical student at Cambridge University and as a clinical student at Oxford University before being trained in Gastroenterology in Oxford and Nottingham. As well as being a Consultant Gastroenterologist, he has held a number of clinical roles in the NHS including Upper GI Cancer Lead, Family History of Colon Cancer Lead and Nutrition Steering group member. He has also held a number of clinical management roles most recently Deputy Medical Director. Dr Jones was previously Hospital Dean for Keele University responsible for undergraduate medical education in Shropshire and remains an honorary senior clinical lecturer. Dr Jones provides a number of services for the General Medical Council as a GMC associate and is a medico-legal expert providing reports for the court.

Dr Jones has provided a broad range of gastroenterology services at Nuffield Health Shrewsbury Hospital since 2003 including consultations and a range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. Dr Jones is also skilled at the advanced techniques of endoscopic ultrasound, oesophageal and duodenal stenting.
