Dr Jeremy Isaacs

I am a consultant neurologist with NHS practices at St George’s and Kingston Hospitals. I am clinical lead for neurology at Kingston Hospital. I have a specialist interest in cognitive neurology and dementia and am dementia clinical lead at St George’s Hospital. In addition to general neurology clinics at Kingston Hospital, I run a multi-disciplinary cognitive neurology service at St George’s Hospital offering diagnosis, treatment and support for all types of cognitive disorder, including young-onset and atypical dementias. I have developed a support group for people living with young-onset dementia. I studied medicine at Cambridge and UCL, qualifying in 1998. My PhD was on the immunology of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD). I was a member of the NICE 2018 dementia clinical guideline committee. I am deputy clinical director of the NHS England (London) Dementia Clinical Network where I lead the London memory network, memory service audit and pathway streamlining programme. I am a member of the Association of British Neurologists Cognitive Neurology Advisory Group. I have research interests in functional cognitive disorders and delirium and in clinical trials in Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia. I have published over 20 peer-reviewed papers on a variety of subjects and co-authored a number of reports and guidance documents. I am an educational supervisor for neurology specialty registrars.
