GMC reg: 4003155Dr Gee qualified from Leicester University in 1993. He was appointed a specialist registrar in Leicester in 1997 where he undertook his higher training in Gastroenterology and General Medicine. He spent 2 years undertaking research into liver disease for his MD, at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge before returning to Leicester to finish his training. He worked in Leicester for a short time as a locum consultant in Gastroenterology and Acute Medicine before taking up his post as Consultant Gastroenterologist at Worcestershire Royal Hospital in November 2005. Since working in Worcestershire Dr Gee has become the clinical service lead for Gastroenterology. He was the training programme director for Gastroenterology for the West Midlands training programme for 10 years and subsequently the chair of the national Specialist Advisory Committee for Gastroenterology for 4 years. Dr Gee is currently the clinical service lead for Gastroenterology in Worcestershire, the endoscopy training lead as well as being an educational supervisor for Specialist Registrars and other non-medical healthcare professionals such as physicians associates.
Gastroenterology
I undertake the full range of general Gastroenterology and Hepatology (except viral hepatitis). I see patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), most other conditions involving the GI tract (such as coeliac disease) and most liver conditions (including cirrhosis). I perform most endoscopic gastro-intestinal procedures including Gastroscopy (OGD), colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and ERCP. I perform most of the related therapeutic procedures including dilatation, variceal banding, stent insertion, polypectomy, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), sphincterotomy and stone removal from the biliary tree.
