Dr Graham Johnston

Dr Graham Johnston MB ChB CCT FRCP FRSPH is a consultant dermatologist who runs the Contact Dermatitis Unit at the University Hospitals of Leicester, UK and is also an Honorary Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of Leicester where he holds an NIHR research grant. He is President of the British Society for Cutaneous Allergy, is lead author of the British Association of Dermatologists’ Guidelines for the Management of Contact Dermatitis, and co-authored the British Occupational Health Research Foundation (BOHRF) systematic review of the treatment of occupational dermatitis. He advised the National Institute of Clinical Excellence on the use of alitretinoin in chronic hand eczema and is one of the few dermatologists elected a Fellow of the RSPH He has refereed for 7 academic journals, was guest editor for the contact dermatitis edition of Clinics in Dermatology and is regional NIHR CRN Research Lead for dermatology Dr Johnston is an active clinical researcher in the fields of eczema, contact allergic dermatitis and wound healing. He has over 150 publications and abstracts in peer reviewed journals including three commissioned editorials on contact dermatitis, chapters in two of the major dermatology reference books and is a co-author of the award winning Lecture Notes in Dermatology.
