GMC reg: 1206986Dr Darlington graduated from Charing Cross Hospital Medical School, University of London and, before beginning her career she was awarded the Hospital Trustees’ Research Fellowship. She received her doctorate for a thesis on lipid metabolism in gout and was later awarded a Private Patients Plan Research Fellowship at Jesus College Cambridge. She has for many years been an Honorary Senior Research Fellow of the University of Glasgow and is Director of a research charity which she founded (Epsom Medical Research), which supports research linked to the University of Glasgow on neuroscience, inflammation and cancer. She has written four books and published 73 paper in refereed journals with an average citation of 31.4 per publication and a research H-index of 27. Dr. Darlington works in six hospitals in three counties: Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire, seeing both NHS and private patients.

Dr Darlington has patients with a wide range of Rheumatological and General Medical illnesses. Her particular interests are: 1) Assessment of complex Rheumatological and General Medical problems for patients 2) Monitoring of Disease-Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drugs (DMARDS) 3) A full osteoporosis programme (preventative and therapeutic) and management of the mechanical and physical problems of patients with osteoporotic fractures 4) Assessment of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis to determine whether they need to be referred for biologic therapies
