GMC reg: 2652863Dr Matthey graduated from Charing Cross Hospital Medical School in 1980, trained in general medicine, before training in haematology at the Royal Free Hospital and UCH. First appointed as a consultant in 1990, he worked in Surrey for 16 years before moving to the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in 2006, where he is Service Lead for haematology. He has a strong reputation for being a good teacher and communicator and has a very high level of commitment to personalised patient care.

Haematology - Clinical Haematology
General Haematology - anaemias, polycythaemia, low and high white blood cell counts, low and high platelet counts. Disorders of coagulation: deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, inherited disorders predisposing to thrombosis (thrombophilia), bleeding disorders. Malignant haematology: MGUS (Monoclonal Gammopathy of Uncertain Significance), myeloma, myeloproliferative diseases (Polycythaemia Rubra Vera, Essential Thrombocythaemia), lymphomas.
