GMC reg: 3560725Dr Fiona Norwood is an experienced Consultant Neurologist. Her NHS bases are at King’s College Hospital (London) and at Princess Royal Hospital (Farnborough Common, Kent). She has been in her full-time consultant post since 2005. She holds outpatient clinics at both sites and is also a founder member of the acute neurology team at the Denmark Hill site. She is an Honorary Senior Lecturer with King’s College, London and has a laboratory research background in the molecular genetics and protein biochemistry of molecules involved in muscular dystrophy. She has a particular clinical interest in muscle diseases and myasthenia gravis, and has specialist clinics at both NHS sites, covering the South East region. Symptoms that might lead to referral include muscle weakness, wasting and cramps / twitching or a family history of a muscle disorder. Dr Norwood also sees patients with the full range of general neurological disorders such as headache, sensory symptoms, tremor and seizures. She works with colleagues in the relevant diagnostic disciplines to achieve a diagnosis and to define treatment options.
