GMC reg: 3544354Dr David Feuer is a Consultant in Palliative Medicine at Barts NHS Trust, and The Homerton University NHS Foundation Trust. He was appointed in 2000. He is Clinical Director in Palliative Medicine at Barts Health (responsible for 5 hospitals and Medical staff) , Medical lead at The Homerton and was also the Lead Cancer Clinician at The Homerton University Hospital from 2000 to 2021. His major interests include pathophysiology and the diagnosis and treatment of malignant intestinal obstruction, with a passion for adequate palliative care and pain relief for all patients at any stage of their illness. Dr Feuer is a graduate of The University of Southampton with degrees in Molecular Biology and Medicine, and after training in a range of London hospitals, he became Senior Registrar & Research Fellow at The Royal Marsden NHS Trust. In this post he undertook a systematic review of The Management of Intestinal Obstruction due to advanced Gynaecological and Intestinal Cancer, funded by the NHS Executive Research and Development Fund. Together with teaching focusing on the need for critical appraisal of the literature, Dr Feuer has made many presentations to local, national & international meetings, most notably as invited expert speaker to the NIH meeting in Los Angeles in 2004. Numerous papers have also resulted from his work, published in the specialist professional literature covering the fields of palliative medicine, general surgery, specialised gynecological oncology, and oncology.
