GMC reg: 3255085Training : Educated at the Lyçée Français de Londres and trained in Medicine at the London Hospital Medical College, qualifying in 1987. Dermatology training at The Royal Free and Royal London Hospitals. Completion of specialist training (CCST) Dermatology 1999. Jules Thorne Fellow- MD in immunodermatology 1999. British Association of Dermatologists Geoffrey Dowling Fellow in Connective tissue and Immunodermatology at the University of British Columbia (2000). Positions of responsibility held : UK Trainee Representative to the British Association of Dermatologists 1997-1999. Clinical lead Dermatology RFH 2001-2004 Founding member of the British Society for Medical Dermatology 2008 Past president of the St John’s Dermatological Society 2012-2013 Chair dermatology service-redesign group RFH 2017-2021 Chair of the Specialised Dermatology Clinical reference group at NHS England 2019-2022. Current NHS post : Consultant dermatologist at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust since 2001. I have developed a nationally & internationally recognised Dermatology Connective Tissue disease (CTD) service, in close collaboration with Rheumatology colleagues, caring for a large cohort of patients with scleroderma (morphoea, systemic sclerosis, overlap syndromes), cutaneous lupus erythematosus and dermatomyositis. Other clinical interests include immune deficiency disorders affecting the skin, Fabry disease (an inherited lysosomal storage disease) and complex medical dermatology. I also routinely see patients referred for mole and skin cancer checks in clinic and undertake dermatological surgery lists to remove cysts, moles and skin cancers. Private practice : Weekly all day clinic at King Edward VII Hospital on Fridays seeing a variety of general and specialist dermatology (including CTD), mole checks and skin cancers and undertaking surgical procedures for diagnosis and removal of benign lesions and skin cancers. Publications : in peer reviewed journals and major dermatology and rheumatology textbooks, principally on the immunological mechanisms involved in the generation of chronic cutaneous inflammation and auto-immunity, Morphoea (localized scleroderma), systemic sclerosis and scleroderma-like diseases, and on the cutaneous manifestations of Fabry disease. Teaching : Medical Students at the Royal Free and University College Medical School, junior doctors and Dermatology Trainees. I regularly teach StRs and Dermatologists on sclerotic skin diseases in the UK and internationally. Charities and affiliation s: Trustee of Registered Charity Dermatrust. Member of British Association of Dermatologists, Royal Society of Medicine and St John’s Dermatological Society.
